James Fenwick to Andrew Jones - March 3, 1869
Letter
In this letter Fenwick outlines his role in obtaining a railroad from Manchester to Pemberton, this would make transporting both people and goods much easier. It seems that there were some issues, powerful people trying to shut it down and those involved not being truthful, at this point it has yet to be resolved.
In the additional/background information pages included with 2024.1.69, Elizabeth White writes that the railroad did eventually get built, and with a stop near the Lisbon farm.
