Cranberry harvest begins in late September – early October in the South Jersey Pine Barrens. Plan ahead for your Whitesbog Farm Cranberry Harvest Tour! Watch our Facebook page starting in mid September for posts on the harvest. You may get to glimpse the wet harvest in progress or see berries floating on the bogs! Tours include Suningive, home of Elizabeth Coleman White, and take place weekdays and Saturdays. Most include walking on sandy roads, though some may allow driving to the locations. Ask about tasting the locally made cranberry salsa, jam and chutney. Cranberry picking in the dry demonstration bog may also be available!
These interpreted nature walks take place on the Saturday closest to the full moon each month (consult our calendar for actual dates and fees). Starting at the General Store, the walk is between 3 and 5 miles in length and led by experienced guides. Participants learn a little bit about the history of the Village and Pine Barrens flora and fauna and enjoy some stargazing while listening to the night sounds of the pines. Check our Facebook page for changes due to weather.
