With damage estimated in excess of $200,000, some 60 volunteers from Pemberton, Browns Mills, Country Lakes, Presidential Lakes, Magnolia Road, Wrightstown, and Cookstown companies fought the fire from the first alarm at 12:30 until well into the night. For five hours it raged out of control, driven by high winds as firemen fought valiantly, hampered by lack of water.
