"A Walk Through Buffin's Meadow" by James Fenwick - 1856/1857
Letter
Fenwick writes as though he is leading a tour group through Buffin's Meadow. He describes the different trees and flowers that grow here and how each has access to water. He then outlines what it would cost to turn this meadow, already growing wild cranberries, into a commercial bog; Fenwick concludes that this land is a good choice for such an operation.
This was most likely written some time between late 1856 and early 1857, as it concerns as purchase made on May 21, 1857.
Fenwick also mentions this land in a letter to Andrew Jones dated January 31, 1857.
